Scott R. Riedel
Mr. Riedel is a consultant in acoustics and organ design from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Projects under his consultation have included the design of acoustical environments, organs, and sound systems for new and renovated churches and auditoriums nationwide. He is Organist-Choirmaster at Sherman Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, and is a guest lecturer at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Riedel, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Architecture and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, has served on many church music committees and boards, including the American Guild of Organists (past Dean, Milwaukee Chapter). He has been on the board of the Royal School of Church Music, is a member of the British Institute of Organ Studies, holds membership in the Acoustical Society of America, and is Architectural and Acoustics reviewer for the GIA Quarterly Magazine. Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Missouri published his booklet, "Acoustics in the Worship Space". He has recently edited a special issue of CrossAccent, a journal published by the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, which focused on church architecture, acoustics, and music.
Mr. Riedel has had numerous articles on acoustics and organ design published in The Diapason, Your Church, The Living Church, GIA Quarterly, and CrossAccent magazines. He has presented lectures on worship space acoustics, organ design and purchase to the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, National Association of Pastoral Musicians, American Guild of Organists (various chapters and regions), Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, American Institute of Architects, and the Lectures in Church Music at Concordia University.
David L. Beyer
Mr. Beyer is principal organ technician at Scott R. Riedel & Associates, Ltd. He serves as organist at Pentecost Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is also organist and lecturer at the Ecumenical Liturgy & Worship Seminar held annually at Magdalen College in Oxford, England. Mr. Beyer began his work as church musician at age 15. He holds degrees in Music Education, cum laude, from Augustana College; and in Organ Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston; his teachers include Yuko Hayashi, Donald Teeters, Robert Schunemann, Merle Pflueger and Bessie Schober. Post-grad organ studies were made with Harald Vogel, Klaas Bolt, Umberto Pineschi, Russell Saunders, and Roberta Gary.
Mr. Beyer has assisted in restoring two historic European organs an 18th century chamber organ in Pistoia, Italy; and the 1560 Epistle organ in the Cathedral of Salamanca, Spain. Both projects were under the direction of Japanese organ builder Hiroshi Tsuji. He also helped voice Tsujis large concert organ built for Salamanca Hall in Gifu City, Japan. He studied organ history and construction with Fritz Noack and was designer/voicer for the J. F. Nordlie Company, Organ Builders, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from 1985 to 1996. Mr. Beyers list of organ concerts ranges worldwide and he has taught organ in Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Japan. Among his compositions are settings for Holy Communion, hymntunes, wedding songs, and organ chorale preludes; his review and articles have appeared in publications nationwide. He is a past Dean of the American Guild of Organists, a member of the Organ Historical Society, and a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.
Christopher B. Cassell
Mr. Cassell is the principal sound system designer for Scott R. Riedel & Associates, Ltd. He teaches at Columbia College, Chicago, Illinois in the areas of Computer Assisted Design for Audio/Video systems, 3-D acoustical modeling, and Audio/Video system design. He has degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and the University of California, Riverside. Mr. Cassell has expertise in the areas of sound, video, and LAN engineering, electronic circuit design, control room design, and theater design. His skill base in software associated with sound engineering includes TEF, Audio Precision, MiniCAD+, Ease, Modeler, Lotus, Excel, and Word.
Mr. Cassell holds membership in the Audio Engineering Society, the Society for Technical Communication, and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. His previous work experience includes employment at dB Sound, Inc., AVC Systems, Audio Systems Group, and Kirkegaard and Associates. Mr. Cassell has been involved in the planning, design, and supervision of audio, film, video, and multimedia systems for clients that include McCormick Place, Chicago Board of Trade, MCI Telecommunications, McDonalds, Inc., Denver Arts Center, and the University of Notre Dame.
Denise L. Hiliger
Denise L. Hiliger is an architectural assistant for Scott R. Riedel & Associates, Ltd. She is currently majoring in Architecture at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Most of her time is dedicated to her studies, but she does make time to be involved with both church and community. She was a member of her church choir for several years, and volunteered for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Knights of Columbus, and Ladies Auxiliary.
Rupert A.G. Murray
Rupert Murray works as an assistant sound & video system designer for Scott R. Riedel & Associates, Ltd. He is a senior at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois and is studying Audio Contracting and Acoustics. Mr. Murray assists in designing sound & video systems using EASE modeling, AutoCad, VectorWorks, and Excel.
Tim De Coster
Tim De Coster is nearly finished with his undergraduate studies in Architecture at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, with a target graduation date of December 2003. Prior to his time at UW-Milwaukee, he earned an Associate of Art and Science degree from University of Wisconsin Fox Valley and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Tim has experience with a variety of CAD software, including about 7 years of experience with AutoCAD, and excels in creating 3D models using AutoCAD and rendering in programs such as FormZ and Accurender. For 4 years he used proprietary CAD software to design packaging and store displays.
Kenneth Turba
Kenneth Turba is an Architectural Assistant for Scott R. Riedel and Associates. His primary responsibilities are to assist in the analysis of drawings for the development of acoustical reports, assist in the design of music performance areas, and assist in calculations of acoustical data for reports. Born and raised in the North-woods, Ken has ventured away from the country life in order to attend college at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to study at the School of Architecture. Ken is planning on receiving his B.S. Degree by December of 2003. In addition to school, Ken is an active member in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
